Thoughts, ideas and uncertainty

Posted by risbolla Jun. 28, 2008 @ 7:26 PM EDT

The only certainty is that there are no certainties.

We use our judgment entirely when we choose whether to deem an observation made by our senses as true or false. Human had more than a mere five senses, must of which were discarded, we sit left with our five common senses with the exception of a few people who may sense spirits. Of course we can't tell if they can sense spirits, because sensing spirits is not one of the common senses which we posses, these people are the only ones who can see in a world where sight isn't amongst the common senses. Or are they?

Although we usually judge observations made by our common senses true, especially those of our eyes, which most people trust more than any of their other senses, we have experienced that our senses may deceive us. That kettle at the Chinese restaurant you thought tasted of chicken was actually cat, that big one you thought you smelt your friend rip was turned out to be just the fertilizers of a farm you drove by with your window open, the yelping dog you thought you heard was in fact the neighbour's kid practicing his violin, fluid you held in your hands felt like water but was really piss and the hot chick you saw at a distance proved to be pretty plain at closer inspection.

So we can't trust our senses entirely, now let's not trust them at all and think. Do you actually exist?

Also, on an unrelated an entirely biased note, some ideas that have crossed my mind and I didn't judge as entirely impossible. Religion related, but it no way representing any religion, just my current ideas.

Like a particle, less than microscopic, can go right through your body without you, and perhaps the particle itself, should it have consciousness, noticing. Our entire galaxy is a particle, and so are all of the galaxies. Like a particle may stop should it hit a cell on its way through your body, so it may stop by colliding into a cell of the universe. A cell of the universe? A cell of the universe is a cell of God, greater than galaxies by far. Since the universe is the greatest we know, and we know nothing beyond it, the universe is in fact God, since he is omnipresent.

God isn't a part of us, we are a part of him, and that's why he is omnibenevolent, he revolves around himself, just as we who were created in his image revolves around ourselves. After all there is no thing such as an unselfish act.

This is of course speculation.

Don't feel obliged to post anything related to the news post, but I'd love to hear some thoughts of yours.
